Tapping Screws for Thin Gage Metal
|
Cyclone® Screws:
A uniquely serrated helical shoulder actually bites
into sheet metal, enabling the Shakeproof Cyclone screw
to absorb higher tightening torque, which adds to increased
backout resistance. A dramatically increased safe operating
range (the difference between required driving torque
and minimum stripping torque) makes the Cyclone screw "user
friendly" and permits the use of thinner sheet
metal in many applications.

HurricaneT Screws: ITW Shakeproof's
Hurricane anti-strip screw is considered the optimum
performer in thin sheet - even .025" and thinner!
The screw creates a positive torque brake in thin sheet
metal, aluminum or plastic. It assures maximum installation
efficiency while eliminating the costly rework associated
with stripped screws.

GX Self-Extruding Screws: This unque screw from
ITW Shakeproof extrudes sheet metal upward and downward
providing an increased area for thread engagement and
meeting U.L. requirements for grounding applications.
For particularly torque- sensitive applications, Shakeproof's
torque-robbing Ger-Nib(R) feature can be incorporated
into the GX screw head.

Ger-Nib® Screws: Protrusions
on the undersurface of the screw head provide a positive
torque brake, enabling this ITW Shakeproof screw to absord
high driving torques without stripping in thin gage materials.
This anti-strip feature can be incorporated in many types
of tapping screws.
