STEMS Nut

The new STEMS Nut from ITW Shakeproof provides an innovative new method for attaching the bar cover plate on many chain saws. The existing method consists of a standard-molded metal bushing that acts as a compression limiter. The process of insert molding this bushing is very expensive.

The STEMS Nut eliminates the need for this insert-molded component. The compression limiting metal bushing (STEMS washer) is integrally attached to the flange nut. The STEMS washer remains free spinning which eliminates the damage on the plastic surface. The STEMS Nut not only reduces cost but also eliminates the number of components in the assembly.
